MOQ & Quote Guide

Everything you need to know before placing an order -- minimum quantities, what affects pricing, sample costs, lead times, and how to submit a quote request that gets you a fast, accurate response.

Minimum Order Quantity

MOQ from 500 pcs/design -- Here's What That Means

Our standard MOQ is 500 pieces per design. This applies to each unique character, colorway, or size variant. It's the threshold that allows us to set up production efficiently while keeping your unit cost competitive.

Multiple designs in one order

You can order 500 pcs of Design A and 500 pcs of Design B in the same purchase order -- each design counts separately toward MOQ.

Size variants share a design

If the same character comes in two sizes (e.g. 20cm and 35cm), each size is treated as a separate design and requires its own 500 pc MOQ.

Lower MOQ for repeat orders

Once tooling and patterns are confirmed, repeat reorder MOQs may be negotiable. Discuss this with our team during the quoting stage.

Below 500 pcs?

We recommend starting with a sample order to validate your design, then planning a bulk run. Contact us -- we'll advise on the most cost-effective path for your project.

What We Need From You

Information Required for an Accurate Quote

The more detail you provide upfront, the faster and more accurate your quote will be. Here's exactly what our team needs to prepare a production-ready cost estimate.

Product Type

Stuffed animal, character mascot, keychain plush, bean bag, wearable, pillow plush, etc. Helps us assign the right pattern maker.

Size (cm / inches)

Provide the finished product height or length. If you need multiple sizes, list each one -- each size is priced and MOQ'd separately.

Order Quantity

Total pcs per design. Higher quantities unlock better unit pricing. Include any planned reorder volumes if you want a tiered price breakdown.

Artwork / Design Files

Reference images, character sheets, front/back/side views, Pantone colors, or rough sketches. The more views, the more accurate the sample.

Target Market

Where will the product be sold? EU, US, Australia, etc. This determines applicable safety standards (EN71, ASTM F963, AS/NZS) and labeling requirements.

Packaging Requirements

Polybag only, custom hang tag, printed box, retail window box, FBA prep, or private label packaging. See packaging options →

Testing / Certification

Do you need CE/EN71, ASTM F963, or other lab test reports? Let us know upfront -- testing costs and timelines will be included in your quote.

Delivery Country

Your destination port or warehouse address (including Amazon FBA warehouse if applicable). Used to estimate freight, Incoterms, and delivery timeline.

Timeline / Deadline

Your required in-hands date or ship date. This helps us confirm whether standard production timelines work or if expedited scheduling is needed.

Cost Breakdown

What Affects the Price of a Custom Plush Toy?

Unit cost is not a single number -- it's the sum of several variables. Understanding these helps you make smarter design and budget decisions from the start.

Size

Larger plush toys require more fabric, more filling, and more labor time. A 15cm keychain plush will cost significantly less per unit than a 50cm character plush, even with the same design complexity.

10-20cm: Lower cost 30-50cm: Mid range 60cm+: Higher cost

Design Complexity

Characters with many small parts (horns, wings, accessories, layered clothing), complex embroidery, or fine facial features require more pattern pieces and sewing time, increasing the unit cost.

Simple: 3-5 panels Medium: accessories Complex: multi-layer

Fabric & Materials

Standard short-pile plush is the most cost-effective. Premium options like minky, long-pile fur, velboa, or organic cotton fabrics add to material costs. Custom-dyed colors may also carry a premium.

Explore fabric options →

Craft & Techniques

Embroidered features cost more than printed ones. Woven labels, sewn-in accessories, sound chips, LED elements, or heat-transfer printing each add to the unit cost. We'll break these out in your quote.

Packaging

A basic polybag adds minimal cost. Custom retail boxes, window packaging, hang tags, and branded inserts all add per-unit cost. FBA-ready prep (barcode, suffocation warning) is also factored in.

Private label packaging options →

Testing & Certification

Lab testing (EN71, ASTM F963, AS/NZS 8124) is charged separately per product/material group. We coordinate with accredited third-party labs and include test costs in your full quote when required.

Order Quantity -- The Biggest Lever

Quantity has the single largest impact on unit cost. Higher volumes spread fixed costs (tooling, setup, material minimums) across more units, driving the per-piece price down significantly.

Get a Quantity-Based Quote

Pricing varies based on your order quantity, design complexity, and material selection. Contact our sales team with your project details and we'll provide a tailored quote -- usually within 24 business hours.

Sampling Policy

Sample Fees & Revision Costs

Sampling is a critical step in custom plush development. We charge a sample fee to cover the labor and materials involved in creating a physical prototype from your artwork. Here's how it works.

Standard Sample Fee

USD 80-250

Covers one physical prototype based on your artwork. Final fee depends on size and complexity. Quoted before sampling begins -- no surprises.

Sample Fee Refund

Refundable

The sample fee is fully deductible from your bulk order invoice once you confirm production. It's an investment in the prototype, not a sunk cost.

Revision Rounds

2 rounds included

Two rounds of minor revisions (color adjustment, proportion tweaks, embroidery changes) are included in the sample fee. Major structural changes or additional rounds are quoted separately.

Pre-Production Sample (PPS)

Recommended

Before bulk production begins, we produce a pre-production sample from actual bulk materials for your final sign-off. This is the last quality checkpoint before mass production runs.

Sample Development Timeline

  1. 1

    Artwork Review & Confirmation

1-2 business days. We review your files and confirm feasibility before charging any fee.

  2. 2

    Pattern Making & Prototype

7-10 business days. Our pattern makers create the first physical sample.

  3. 3

    Sample Shipped for Review

Physical sample shipped to you, or high-resolution photos provided for remote review.

  4. 4

    Revisions (if needed)

Up to 2 revision rounds. Each revision cycle takes 5-7 business days.

  5. Sample Approved → Bulk Production

You sign off on the sample. Production deposit confirmed. Bulk run begins.

Pro tip: Providing multi-angle reference images, Pantone color codes, and clear notes on priority details (face expression, proportions) before sampling starts reduces revision rounds and speeds up approval.

How to Submit a High-Quality RFQ

A well-prepared inquiry gets a faster response, a more accurate price, and fewer back-and-forth emails. Follow these steps to get the most from your quote request.

1

Prepare your artwork before submitting

Gather front, back, and side reference images of your character or design. If you have Pantone color codes, include them. Even rough sketches or reference toys help -- our team can work with most formats.

2

Specify your target market and compliance needs

Tell us where the product will be sold (EU, US, Australia, etc.) and whether you need lab test reports. This affects material selection, labeling, and cost -- and avoids compliance surprises later.

3

Be clear about quantity and timeline

State your order quantity per design and your required in-hands date. If you're flexible on quantity, give us a range. If you have a hard deadline (trade show, holiday season), tell us upfront so we can plan accordingly.

4

Describe packaging and branding requirements

Let us know if you need custom boxes, hang tags, private label packaging, or FBA-ready prep. The more specific you are, the more complete and accurate your quote will be on the first pass.

Submit via our structured RFQ form

Our RFQ form is structured to capture all the information above in one go. It takes about 5 minutes to complete and ensures our team has everything needed to respond with a detailed cost estimate within 24 business hours.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions about MOQ, pricing, and quoting. View the full FAQ →

Can I order less than 500 pieces?
Our standard MOQ is 500 pcs per design. For quantities below this, unit costs increase significantly due to setup and material minimums. We recommend starting with a sample to validate your design and then planning a 500+ pc first run. Contact us to discuss your specific situation -- we'll advise on the most practical path.
How long does it take to get a quote?
We respond to all RFQ submissions within 24 business hours on business days (Mon-Fri, GMT+8). A complete quote with unit cost, sample fee, and lead time is typically provided within 1-2 business days, depending on design complexity. Submitting complete information via our RFQ form ensures the fastest turnaround.
Is the sample fee refundable?
Yes. The sample fee is fully deductible from your bulk order invoice once you confirm production. It covers the cost of pattern making and prototype labor -- not a profit item. If you don't proceed to bulk production, the sample fee is non-refundable.
Do you provide CE / EN71 or ASTM test reports?
Yes. We coordinate with accredited third-party testing laboratories (SGS, Intertek, BV) for CE/EN71 (EU), ASTM F963 (US), AS/NZS 8124 (Australia), and other market-specific certifications. Testing costs are quoted separately and depend on the number of materials and test standards required. Please specify your target market in the RFQ so we can include testing in your cost estimate.
Can you keep my IP and character designs confidential?
Absolutely. We take IP protection seriously and are happy to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) before you share any artwork or design files. Our production team operates under strict confidentiality protocols, and we do not share, reuse, or reproduce client designs for any other party.
How many revision rounds are included in the sample fee?
Two rounds of minor revisions are included -- covering color adjustments, proportion tweaks, embroidery changes, and similar refinements. Major structural redesigns or additional revision rounds beyond the two included are quoted separately. Providing clear, detailed reference images upfront significantly reduces the need for revisions.
What is the bulk production lead time?
Standard bulk production lead time is 30-45 days from deposit confirmation and sample approval. This covers material sourcing, cutting, sewing, stuffing, QC inspection, packaging, and cargo-ready preparation. Freight time is additional (sea freight to Europe: ~25-35 days; air freight: ~5-7 days). Rush production may be available for simple or repeat designs -- ask us when you submit your RFQ.
Do you support private label packaging and FBA prep?
Yes. We offer a full range of packaging options including custom retail boxes, hang tags, polybags with suffocation warnings, window boxes, and branded inserts. We also support Amazon FBA prep (FNSKU labels, poly-bagging, carton labeling). Learn more about our packaging options →
